Remnant 2 has a truly incredible diversity of weapons. There are only three primary categories (Long Gun, Handgun, Melee), but every weapon in each category is unique and carefully designed. This Weapon Tier List breaks down the guns in each category and attempts to rate them into concise Tiers.

For detailed Tier-List breakdowns, please check our weapon category rankings:
- Long Guns
- Handguns
- Melee Weapons
Our Tier List prioritizes quantifiable stats like Damage, Fire Rate, and Range, but it doesn’t account for your playstyle preferences. If a weapon fits your playstyle perfectly, you can often be more effective with it than with something that doesn’t, so you should ultimately decide which is best for you.
All of the weapons in this list have been ranked according to the following factors:
- Damage
- Fire Rate
- Magazine Size
- Ideal Range
- Falloff Range
- Critical Chance
- Weakspot Damage
- Stagger
- Boss Mod

Remnant 2 - Best Weapons Tier List
After ranking these weapons on purely numerical values, we carefully curated the list based on extensive playtesting. Some guns are better on paper than they are in practice, and others are more useful than their stats make them out to be. With that in mind, check out our Tier List for every weapon in Remnant 2.
Long Guns
Long Guns are the bread & butter of most builds. They tend to provide significantly more damage and range than Handguns, and even Melee builds should be mindful of which Long Gun they choose.

S-Tier Long Guns
The Long Guns in the S Tier set themselves apart in most stats, but they tend to favor Critical Chance and Range. With the exception of the Widowmaker, all of these guns have Boss Mods that increase their power level significantly.
Weapon | Best Stats |
---|---|
Sagittarius | Critical Chance, Weakspot Damage |
Widowmaker | Range, Weakspot Damage, Stagger |
Nightfall | Critical Chance, Stagger |
Alpha / Omega | Critical Chance, Range |
A-Tier Long Guns
These A-Tier Guns lead the pack in quite a few stats, but they’re especially good at Stagger. Most of them have very respectable Damage values as well, and most have Boss Mods.
Weapon | Best Stats |
---|---|
Merciless | Fire Rate, Critical Chance |
Deceit | Critical Chance, Range |
Savior | Critical Chance, Weakspot Damage |
Sporebloom | Damage, Stagger |
Aphelion | Critical Chance, Range |
Pulse Rifle | Critical Chance, Weakspot Damage |
Plasma Cutter | Fire Rate, Magazine Size |
B-Tier Long Guns
The B Tier is filled with a wide variety of guns. Many of these middle-of-the-road options are exceptionally good at one thing in particular, and a few have powerful Boss Mods.
Weapon | Best Stats |
---|---|
Crescent Moon | Range, Critical Chance |
Starkiller | Range, Critical Chance, Weakspot Damage |
Twisted Arbalest | Damage, Critical Chance |
Crossbow | Damage, Weakspot Damage |
Royal Hunting Bow | Critical Chance, Weakspot Damage |
XMG57 “Bonesaw” | Fire Rate, Magazine Size |
Blackmaw AR-47 | Critical Chance, Magazine Size |
Chicago Typewriter | Fire Rate, Critical Chance |
AS-10 “Bulldog” | Fire Rate, Magazine Size |

C-Tier Long Guns
These C-Tier guns are lackluster in their stats. Only the Repulsor has a Boss Mod, but it doesn’t make up for the shortcomings of the gun. These can surely all be effective weapons; they aren’t broken, but it does take some serious effort and upgrades to get the most out of them.
Weapon | Best Stats |
---|---|
Wrangler 1860 | Critical Chance, Weakspot Damage |
Huntmaster M1 | Damage, Range |
Repulsor | Damage, Stagger |
Rusty Lever Action | Range, Weakspot Damage |
D-Tier Long Guns
The D Tier consists of two weapons that are quantifiably the weakest weapons in the game. They have the weakest stats in almost every category.
Weapon | Best Stats |
---|---|
Coach Gun | Damage, Magazine Size |
Ford’s Scattergun | Damage, Stagger |
Handguns
Handguns provide an important supplement to your choice of Long Gun. Often, it’s best to offset any weaknesses that your Long Gun might have with a Handgun that counts those among its strengths. For example, if you choose a Long Gun with a short Range, you may want to pick a Handgun that has a longer range so you can pick off enemies from a distance when you need to.

S-Tier Handguns
There’s just one weapon that pulls ahead among the Handguns as significantly better than the rest. The Rune Pistol has an impressive mod ability and incredible stats that set it apart.

Weapon | Best Stats |
---|---|
Rune Pistol | Magazine Size, Critical Chance |
A-Tier Handguns
There are quite a few handguns in the A-Tier. All of them have different handling, speed, and shot types. These guns each excel at very different things, too. Which one will be best for you depends on your build and your playstyle, but all of them are solid choices.
Weapon | Best Stats |
---|---|
Star Shot | Range, Stagger |
Cube Gun | Fire Rate, Range |
Bolt Driver | Fire Rate, Magazine Size |
Sorrow | Critical Chance, Weakspot Damage |
MP60-R | Fire Rate, Critical Chance |

Silverback Model 500 | Damage, Range, Stagger |
Hellfire | Magazine Size |
Tech 22 | Fire Rate, Critical Chance |
Nebula | Fire Rate, Magazine Size |
Meridian | Damage |
Enigma | Magazine Size |
Rupture Cannon | Damage, Stagger |
B-Tier Handguns
The Handguns in the B Tier aren’t necessarily awful, but they don’t quite set themselves apart. There are better stats to be found in other options, but they can be useful in certain builds.
Weapon | Best Stat |
---|---|
Sureshot | Range, Damage, Stagger |
Western Classic | Range |
Service Pistol | Range, Critical Chance |
Repeater Pistol | Fire Rate, Range |
C-Tier Handguns
The Rusty Repeater is the only gun that can’t have a modifier or mutator attached to it. Thus, regardless of how much you upgrade it, it will never be as powerful as other guns.

Melee Weapons
Remnant 2 offers an excellent selection of Melee Weapons. There are large, heavy weapons that deal incredible damage and stagger, but there are also many small, handheld weapons that tend to be useful too.

S-Tier Melee Weapons
The S-Tier melee weapons are all huge weapons that can often crush enemies in one hit. These weapons are also all excellent at causing Stagger, which can be vital to success against elite enemies.
Weapon | Best Stat |
---|---|
World’s Edge | Damage, Stagger |
Stonebreaker | Damage, Stagger |
Atom Smasher | Damage, Stagger |
A-Tier Melee Weapons
The Melee Weapons in the A Tier are also larger weapons, but these ones have slightly less-impressive stats. Most of these have Boss Mods that greatly augment their usefulness.
Weapon | Best Stats |
---|---|
Atom Splitter | Damage, Stagger |
Nightshade | Critical Chance, Weakspot Damage |
Gas Giant | Weakspot Damage, Stagger |
Iron Greatsword | Damage, Stagger |
Royal Broadsword | Damage, Stagger |
Red Doe Staff | Damage, Stagger |

B-Tier Melee Weapons
In the B Tier you’ll find some truly impressive weapons that have respectable stats. Many of these can be central to certain builds, so don’t write them off too quickly.
Weapon | Best Stats |
---|---|
Huntress Spear | Weakspot Damage |
Scrap Hammer | Critical Chance, Stagger |
Dreamcatcher | Stagger |
Feral Judgement | Critical Chance, Weakspot Damage |
Rebellion Spear | Critical Chance, Weakspot Damage |
Scrap Staff | Stagger |
C-Tier Melee Weapons
Most of the Melee Weapons in the C-Tier are easily replaced by weapons in higher tiers. However, there are a couple of standouts, like the Spectral Blade and Smolder, both of which have useful Boss Mods.
Weapon | Best Stats |
---|---|
Steel Flail | Weakspot Damage, Stagger |
Labyrinth Staff | Stagger |
Ornate Flail | Critical Chance, Weakspot Damage |
Steel Spear | Weakspot Damage |
Spectral Blade | Weakspot Damage |
Smolder | Weakspot Damage |
Hero’s Sword | |
Krell Axe | |
Blade of Gul | Weakspot Damage, Stagger |
Bone Chopper | Weakspot Damage |
Edge of the Forest | Weakspot Damage |
Decayed Claws | Critical Chance |
D-Tier Melee Weapons
Nearly all of the weapons in D-Tier are simply too weak to use for too long. The only weapon with a Boss Mod in this Tier is the Assassin’s Dagger, which has some limited usefulness.
Weapon | Best Stats |
---|---|
Steel Sword | Weakspot Damage |
Scrap Hatchet | Weakspot Damage |
Rusted Claws | Critical Chance, Weakspot Damage |
Steel Katana | Critical Chance, Weakspot Damage |
Assassin’s Dagger | Weakspot Damage |

E-Tier Melee Weapons
The Melee Weapons in the E Tier might warrant a considerable buff from Gunfire Games because none of them are as useful as they could be. Despite its fun Boss Mod, the Godsplitter is particularly disappointing, being that it has the lowest stats in almost every category.
Weapon | Best Stats |
---|---|
Knuckle Dusters | Weakspot Damage, Stagger |
Vice Grips | Weakspot Damage |
Godsplitter |
